Update On Sofia

This has been a day covered in prayer and we have felt it. Sofia did awesome this morning. They got her in much earlier than we thought at 8:00am. The nurses played with her and while we were waiting zoomed her around in a chair. I think she was the hit of the cath lab. They were so used to older patients in the cath lab it was refreshing to see a little smiling girl. She cried when they took her off but quickly stopped when Dr.Mindee picked her up from the stretcher and held her the rest of the way.
We were so blessed to have Dr.Mindee's husband keeping us up to speed every five minutes (yes this is unusual and was a true blessing.) As soon as she was all the way under both of our friends Bob and Dr.Mindee came to let us know she went out like a champ, then the whole time we knew exactly what was going on. It was amazing.

The whole was approximately 9mm and they put a 10mm device in to plug it up. It only took about 2 hours and we got to see her around noon. She was pretty groggy and had a sore throat. When we walked in she said "when do I have to have my surgery mommy?" What a blessing that she didn't even know it was all over.

Besides a scratchy throat, a low grade fever and the annoyance of having to keep her leg straight for 6 hours she is doing amazing. She will stay in PICU until the morning when they will run some more test and we should be released in the afternoon.

What a precious girl! I just took a little nap with her and wanted to update everyone on how she was doing. We cannot thank you enough for your prayers and support.
Here are a few pre-surgery pictures, isn't she cute? Those socks were one of her prizes.

Ok, so we might have kept her up a little too long last night-loopy!

She was getting pretty anxious until her best friend Boone got up there at 7 this morning and cheered her up.

I am so glad Sophia is doing well. I have kept up with the blog, but never have time to post anything. I'm glad she is done with it and hope she continues to heal. Tell Sophia I still hate "shots" and have had more then she has for sure. I miss you all and hope to see you sometime before you go to Lima.

Your Other Daughter,
Caroline
