A 3 Year Old's Excuses Not To Go To Sleep

This is the first time in almost a month that we have updated our blog and all I can say is "we have had lots going on." We are finally moved in to our "temporary" house in Abilene and trying to pack up to leave at the same time. I'm sure that sounds weird to most of you but that is just the stage that we are in. We will be in Abilene for a couple of months and then depart for Lima, Peru in late March.

It's been and continues to be a pretty crazy ride for our family but we are truly enjoying our time here with family and friends. We have felt so loved and prayed for by so many of you. Our kids are in a Mothers Day Out program which we walk to behind our house on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They are adjusting well but still have some days of wondering when we get in the car, which country we will end up in.

Sofia and I went to go see "Annie" and had an awesome time. She is now officially obsessed with Annie. Maddox is hilarious and keeps Lee and I on our toes. He loves to clean and play games with Sofia.

Lee is interning with Highland and gets to walk to the office (we live in front of the church where he works and the kids go to daycare.) He's enjoying spending time with the staff and meeting with different people to pray and talk. He is also spending a LOT of time getting our family packed, inventorying our stuff, getting our taxes done, newsletters and everything else. He's great!

I have been trying to unpack and pack at the same time. It's posing a real challenge while doing this with two children running behind me dumping things out. Oh well, such is life. I've been enjoying getting with friends, working out and teaching some with EverFIT (it's a business a friend and I started over a year ago.) If your reading this and you live in Abilene you need to check out www.everfitteam.com. I went to one day of the Intense Bootcamp last week and I'm STILL sore. I also will start my Spanish tutoring tomorrow and I'm really excited about getting back into it. God is really beginning to heal my heart with everything that has happened but days are still hard. I am grateful for his patience, healing and sending some great people my way.

Ok, so here is the story to the title of this post. Sofia has been getting into the bad habit of asking for a million things when we put her to bed, just to get out of bed. It's been: a drink, she's hungry, she needs one more hug or needs to tell us something important. Well last night the ultimate excuse was used. Lee and I were in our room when she runs in and says "mom, I ate Cinderellas head!" I said "Sofia, that is enough. You better get back in your bed NOW!" She then said "no really mom, I swallowed Cinderellas head, it's in my throat." Lee and I looked at each other confused and followed her into her room. This is what we saw:

And we thought we had heard it all!
