Viva Peru!!!

Well we are here in Lima, Peru. Tuesday afternoon we embarked through security with ALL of our stuff and a few tears.

For all of you that prayed for our flight, thank you! For those of you that prayed for good travel in general, could have used a few more prayers, HAHA!

So to put it lightly going through security was horrible. Lee got all but stripped searched for about 5 minutes, 3 of our carry-ons got searched (which they told me I had to be right next to the bag while they were searching it), I had one flip-flop on and one I couldn't find, Maddox had to use the bathroom BAD and to top it off Liam was crying hard because he was hungry (I was trying to hold him off for the plane ride.) Needless to say, I was SWEATING by the time we got to the airplane. Luckily our friend Hope got to meet us on the other side of security and helped me wrangle the kids while we waited for Lee.

Ok, so that was the bad part but all three of the kids were angels during the flight and literally slept most of the way. We watched movies, ate dinner and played games. Once we got to Lima we got to skip through customs when they saw our load and though both Lee and Hope got stopped to get the luggage checked, I snuck out with the kids and skipped on through to the other side (hopefully no one that works for the airport is reading this.) I've included a few pictures of our time in security and to show you what we looked like at 1:00 in the morning after getting all of our stuff:
That's not even all of our bags
The Fletchers at 2am
Who said a stroller was for kids :)

Let's Play "I spy"- Where is Stephanie's Shoe???

Maddox just can't believe he's FINALLY in Peru! Or he's just yawning

We were SOOO excited to get to our house that the kids and I ran around and looked at the whole house for about an hour! It was so fun but we crashed into our beds hard at 3am. The house is absolutely beautiful and my sweet hubby did an awesome job picking it out. Sofia was so excited to see her new room and Maddox was just plain excited about everything. What a blessing to have gone straight into our house. Our sweet teammates had made cookies, brownies, had the house cleaned, washed our sheets and made our beds, had flowers and a candle in our room and made it seem so homy already. We just love them!

All in all our first night was smooth and our first day was a fun-filled day of shopping. The differences in the cultures really didn't hit until I went to the "mall" to go buy silverware that evening. It was INSANE! I'll describe my shopping experience tomorrow because I am honestly WAY too tired.

Thank you for all your prayers for safety and please continue to pray for the next few weeks of trying to get settled.

Love,
Steph
PS Sorry if there are any typos, I'm too tired to go back and read this!
