The Tea Party

I've been meaning to post about this for a couple of weeks but time has flown by. Sofia has always had a love for tea parties. I don't know if it has something to do with the fact that I drink about 4 cups of hot tea a day but she loves sharing a small cup together over crumpets (a.k.a. cookies.)

The other day Sofia and I decided it would be fun to have some of the girls from her class at school come over for a tea party. It was so fun planning this small yet important event for Sofia. We invited her friend Gracie, Ella and another Sophia to join us for this royal event.
The girls had a blast. It was so fun watching them drive up (in their strollers of course) all dressed up to the hilt. Gracie even had a crown made of foil. The plan was to have tea, read a book about a princess tea party, color princess coloring books, play a royal game and make cupcakes. So pretty much these little munchkins stuck to the cupcakes and the tea the entire time. I was cracking up at Ella because she was downing sugar from the little bowl when we were all turned around and I think all the girls put about a 1/2 cup sugar in a tea cup about the size of my thumb! The girls had a great time and I think Sofia really enjoyed having friends over from her class.

Oh, just FYI Sofia and Maddox are doing great in school now. The daily crying has ceased. Sofia isn't taking on any wrestling matches lately although she did tell me that a cut on her head was from a little girl who hit her with a block. I asked her why the little girl had hit her with a block and Sofia said "cause I hit her on the head with a block." Makes sense to me. Just kidding, we did talk about what "doing to others" means. They both amaze by how much Spanish they are absorbing. She even corrected our maid the other day and Marina and I both died laughing. Maddox doesn't even know the English word for "hi" or "water." Sofia tells me she is frio (cold.) It's really pretty cool how these little tykes are learning so much in such a short time, I'm so thankful.

Here are a few pictures from "The Tea Party."
